About Us
Elwierda was established in 1976 and started operating in Pretoria, Gauteng. In 1989 Elwierda Stellenbosch was established in the Western Cape and shortly thereafter, in 1998, a depot was opened in Windhoek, Namibia. Our company has grown to become an operator of luxury coaches, semi-luxury coaches and contract buses with our head office currently in Cape Town. We have a fleet of coaches from the Western Cape and Gauteng in South Africa to the capital of Namibia namely Windhoek
Experience and Safety
Our drivers all have years of experience and knowledge in the field as well as an excellent long distance record. Our drivers receive on-route training on the different routes they need to travel.As an added security and control feature we have installed Skytrax, a satellite tracking device, on all vehicles in our fleet. To further ensure the safety of our fleet, extensive mechanical checks are made at regular intervals.

Awards
22nd International Award for Tourism, Hotel and Catering
Elwierda became a member of the International Trade Leader Club and was the first coach company in South Africa to be awarded the coveted International Award for Tourism, Hotel and Catering. This 22nd International Award was bestowed on the company for excellence in the coach industry.
International Gold Star Award
Elwierda received the highest award for quality - the International Gold Star Award, from Business Initiative Directions in Spain. This award once again confirmed the premium which is on quality and service by the company and it's employees.

Insurance & Passenger Liability
Promark Insurance Brokers, P O Box147, Maitland, Cape Town, act as brokers for our account and Guardrisk Insurance Company Ltd, and Underwriters at Lloyds' of London, have been commissioned as Insurance Underwriting Administrators. Our Passenger liability Insurance covers up to One Hundred Million Rand (R100,000,000.00) per incident, in respect of all the passengers whilst being transported by Elwierda coaches.
